Nice! And dude, for fifteen minute hair, that's pretty sweet. XD my only suggestion might be to make the shading on the hair and the face a little more cohesive. Good job though, really. I like this. :D

OMG LONGEST COMMENT EVER. Well, my number one tip with shading is this: pick a midtone, and fill your whole drawing with that first. If you want lighter or darker hair or something, pick a different midtone for that and fill that whole section with it. Then add your shadows on top of that midtone, and theeen bring out your highlights with white or an eraser or a lighter color... your pick. It's what my drawing teacher tells us to do when working with value. Works pretty well. Also, no one is going to hurt you for using the smudge tool. XD My first CG piece was made entirely with the photoshop blend tool. XD It was kind of silly. I'm not really sure how to suggest making your shading fluid in photoshop, i don't generally try to paint in photoshop ever. I'm tellin ya, dude, painter is the way to go. XD

i'll put it back on my computer so i can use it. but that's a good idea, i've seen that technique in a lot of tutorials but i guess when i try to do it, it never turns out quite the way i want it to. ah well, it's easier to draw in real life but it looks better on the computer. such is life.
thanks for the tip!
